Forno Brisa

In the world's epicenter of fresh pasta and mortadella, where to find coffee? Of course, this being Italy, coffee is everywhere. But if you want something a little different than the classic Italian robusta shot standing at the bar, you're in luck.

For a pleasant pick-me-up at any time of day, look no farther than Forno Brisa, which has three locations throughout Bologna. Each is slightly different and worth a visit of its own. In addition to the incredible pastries, bread, pizza and a limited but classic offering of spritzes and craft beer by the bottle, Forno Brisa features some of Italy's finest roasters from the burgeoning third wave scene. Count on a well made pourover or siphon in addition to a well-made array of espresso classics. There is always a single origin espresso option for those looking to branch out from the more tradition flavor profile so cherished by locals. The baristas at Forno Brisa are hip, chatty, and very much into coffee in a way their elders probably do not understand. That they speak great English is an additional bonus for travelers. I can't recommend Forno Brisa enough.
